About crumbfort

recipies & reflections for a rested life, one crumb at a time

In our hyper-stimulated world of distractions we remain discontented, desperate for connection and meaning, surrounded by opportunity and material comforts, yet are void of true community and lasting fulfillment. Crumbfort offers a simple solution to our quick-fix society: One Crumb at a Time.

The belief that the little things hold the most power is the philosophy behind Crumbfort. By training our attention on the little things that bring us joy, we can build lives of true peace, fulfillment, and comfort. One where God comes first, rest is sacred, and community becomes commonplace. Our ability to lead our happiest most meaningful lives all boils down to crumbs. The satisfying crunch of freshly baked bread, the sweet smell of aromatherapy spritzed on your pillows, the warmth of sharing laughs with your friends, little things that are easy to overlook, but powerful when noticed.

The mission of Crumbfort is to live 2 Corinthians 1: 3-4 in action, one cookie, one devotional, one crumb at a time. 🍪

I believe food is more than nourishment; it’s a bridge to community, a spark for creativity, and a celebration of culture and connection.
So if you have a soft spot for sweet treats, warm kitchens, faith-filled comforts, and the occasional wordplay 😉, you’re in the right place. The FAQ

Most Common Q’s

Crumbfort is a play on words for “Comfort” and “Crumb.” The intent is to evoke the cozy feelings of a warm kitchen, sweet treats, and a welcoming home on the pages of the internet.

Crumbfort provides sanctuary for those seeking refuge from a fast-paced, worry-filled, and sugar-free life 😉. If you enjoy cozy recipes, word humor, and faith-filled musings, you’re in the right place!

Hey, Kai Bergquist here! I’m a wife, a massage therapist, a home-baker, a comfort-seeking, Bible following, amateur poet, who loves a good pun and all things cozy. I started Crumbfort as my personal ministry to share little crumbs of joy, often in the form of baked goods, wellness tips, or biblically based thought-bites ☺️. Whether you come for the cookies but stay for my sparkling humor, you are very welcome.

That’s difficult to answer, as food is life 🤔. But if I had to consider what I continually go back to, the answer would be Cheesecake. I love the versatility in flavor, the unique tangy taste, and it’s significantly easier to decorate than a traditional sponge cake…so much credit to those who know what they are doing there.

At the moment, Crumbfort is a low-pressure commitment, a place to share all things cozy and crumbly. In time it may evolve into something more, but for now, there is great freedom in something being free. 🙂
